Well, it's finally happened, kids.

Due to a very creepy situation where someone at work keeps letting me know that he knows, "Allllll about me," I've been forced to make my journal pretty much friends-only.

I've gone back and changed all of my previous posts for the last almost 4 years to "Friends-Only" using HIDE Journal.

From here on out, most of my posts will be Friends-Only with the exception of those that I want to share publicly, like this one.

It's really, really sad that someone would make this attack on me. My LiveJournal has been something that I have honestly enjoyed to the core of me for the last 4 years. I've made some great friends both online and in real life. I've learned so much about other people AND about myself.

The fact that this person took that all away from me not only makes me angry, but it makes me sick. There aren't many things that I really, honestly and truly enjoy like my LiveJournal. And now that's gone.

It's not like my life is over because of this, but a very big, very important part of it is gone in a way. Changed due to someone's creepy stalking and my fear of what might come from that.

*sigh* I'm very upset and I really hate this person right now. I only have so many things that I enjoy and now this is gone too.

So, I'm relocating to LA for 3 months, and you're the #2 "Most-Popular-With-My-Flist-BUT-Not-On-MY-Flist-Yet" person for me according to LJ. Therefore I was thinking - unless 19 of our mutual friends are wrong, we should at least be on each other's Flist. And possibly grab coffee and/or cocktails sometime while I'm around?

I had a very similar situation occur with my previous lj (baronkarza) which I've since deleted. I created a new journal and most (if not all) of my posts are friends only or private. Even when I post pics as friends only, I usually edit the post to private after a few days just to be on the safe side. Of course with this online stuff, I'm well aware that there's really nothing safe or secure...period.

Regarding your situation, I find it odd that the creepy stalker guy could make such a casual reference to your history without having at least made the effort to get to know you better? Like that wasn't supposed to freak you out? What was he thinking? I suppose that our public online personas invite people to ingratiate themselves into our lives, but I could do without the creepy stalkerish types.

came across your journal (of which this page is what i see since i'm not on your list yet) via full_exposure. sorry to hear about this happening, and i've filtered some of my entries for the same reason. definitely sucks when LJ is one way to just let your fingers do that talking about whatever is going on in your head. typing or writing things out used to be my way of giving room for other things in mine.
